The big difference is that man usually isn't patient, nor is he noiseless. History shows us men do make a lot of noise (revolutions, wars &c). The spider lets its filament in the wind so that it would be caught up by the wind and driven somewhere, without thinking where to. While man is - most of the time when he isn't intoxicated (be it with drugs or reading fantasy or movies) - quite troubled by the question as to where he's heading to...
